General Getting Started Rides & Bidding Payments For Drivers Safety & Trust Ratings Privacy & Data Troubleshooting
General

Airman2Go is a ride-sharing platform built exclusively for military communities. It connects active-duty service members, military dependents, and authorized DoD personnel with verified drivers from within the same community. Unlike traditional ride-sharing apps, Airman2Go uses a unique bidding system where riders set their own price, resulting in fares that are typically 50% less than Uber or Lyft.

Airman2Go is available to:

  • Active-duty military service members (all branches: Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Space Force, Coast Guard)
  • Military dependents and family members
  • Military retirees
  • Authorized DoD civilian personnel

All users must be at least 18 years old and complete identity verification during account setup.

No. Airman2Go is an independent, privately operated technology platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Department of Defense, any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, or any government agency. The "Airman" in our name reflects our roots in serving the Air Force community, but our platform is open to all military branches.

  • You set the price: Riders propose their own fare. No surge pricing.
  • Bidding system: Drivers can accept your price or counter-offer, creating a transparent marketplace.
  • Military-only community: Every user is verified military personnel or family.
  • Lower fees: Only 10% platform fee + small service fee vs. 25-30% charged by Uber/Lyft.
  • Complete confidentiality: Your rides are never reported to command or military leadership.

Airman2Go is available at military installations worldwide, both CONUS and OCONUS, including European bases. You can see the full list of active bases on our homepage map. New bases are added regularly based on community demand.

The app is available 24/7. However, driver availability depends on your location and time of day. Each base has configured operation hours, and you can schedule rides in advance to increase your chances of getting a driver at specific times.

🚀
Getting Started

Download Airman2Go from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). When you open the app:

  • The app detects your location and suggests your nearest military base
  • Enter your name, email, phone number, and create a password
  • Complete CAC/military ID verification
  • Add a payment method (credit or debit card)
  • You're ready to request rides!

CAC (Common Access Card) verification is how we confirm you are part of the military community. During your first ride request, you'll be asked to confirm that you possess a valid CAC or military ID. We do NOT photograph, scan, or store your CAC. We only record that you have confirmed your military affiliation.

No, but your ride must be within the service area of a supported military installation. This includes the base and surrounding community. You can request rides from off-base locations (your apartment, a restaurant, the airport, etc.) as long as the pickup or destination is within the supported area.

Yes! Military dependents and family members are welcome to create their own accounts and use Airman2Go independently. Each person should have their own account with their own information.

🚗
Rides & Bidding
  • Tap "Request a Ride" from the home screen
  • Set your pickup location (or use current GPS location)
  • Set your destination by searching an address or dropping a pin
  • Enter your offered price
  • Choose "Ride Now" or "Schedule" for a future time
  • Submit and wait for drivers to bid

When you submit a ride request, nearby drivers are notified and can see your approximate pickup area, destination, and offered price. They can:

  • Accept your price: Take the ride at your offered fare
  • Counter-offer: Propose a different amount
  • Pass: Skip your request

You see all incoming bids, each driver's rating, and accept whichever bid you prefer. The bidding window is 15 minutes for immediate rides, or until 30 minutes before pickup for scheduled rides.

As a general guideline, riders typically offer between $0.50 — $1.00 per kilometer. Consider the distance, time of day (late-night rides may need higher offers), current driver availability, and weather. If your initial offer doesn't get bids, you can cancel and resubmit with a higher amount.

If the bidding window closes without any accepted bids, your ride request expires with no charge. You can resubmit the request with a higher offered price. Scheduling rides in advance gives drivers more time to see your request.

  • Before a bid is accepted: No fee, no penalty
  • After a driver is assigned but hasn't arrived: $2.00 fee + minor reliability infraction
  • After the driver has arrived at pickup: $5.00 fee + major reliability infraction
  • No-show: Major reliability infraction + potential full ride charge

See our Terms of Service for full details on the reliability system.

Yes. Once your ride is accepted, you can see your driver's real-time location on the map as they approach your pickup point and throughout the ride.

💳
Payments & Fees

Airman2Go accepts credit and debit cards through Stripe. Supported cards include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. We never see or store your full card number — that's handled by Stripe.

Airman2Go charges a 10% platform fee on rides plus a $1.00 service fee. For deliveries, it's 12% plus a $1.50 service fee. The service fee covers payment processing and platform maintenance. For example, on a $10.00 ride: the driver receives $9.00, Airman2Go receives $1.00 (10%), and the rider pays $11.00 total ($10.00 + $1.00 service fee). Drivers are paid automatically every 2 business days via Stripe.

Your payment method is authorized (a hold is placed) when you accept a driver's bid. The actual charge is captured when the ride is marked as completed. If cancelled before completion, the hold is released (may take 3-5 business days depending on your bank).

Contact us at support@airman2go.com within 7 days of the ride. We review ride data and issue refunds when appropriate. Refunds typically appear within 5-10 business days.

Yes. Airman2Go operates on an always-on model. No scheduled shifts. Simply toggle your Driver Console to "Online" when you're ready to accept rides and go offline at any time.

When a rider posts a request near you, you'll see it in your Driver Console feed and receive a push notification. Each ride card shows the rider's rating, pickup area, destination, and offered price. You can:

  • Accept: Take the ride at the offered price
  • Counter-offer: Propose a different amount
  • Skip: Pass on the request

No. Airman2Go is built on the same confidentiality principles as AADD (Airmen Against Drunk Driving). We do not report individual ride information to military command, supervisors, first sergeants, or any government agencies. Your ride history is your private information.

Riders: There is no restriction on using Airman2Go after consuming alcohol. Getting a safe ride home is exactly what we encourage. Your ride is completely confidential.

Drivers: You must NEVER operate your vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substance. Zero tolerance. Violation results in immediate and permanent deactivation.

Ratings & Reliability

Airman2Go uses a mutual rating system:

  • After each ride, riders rate drivers (1-5 stars) and drivers rate riders (1-5 stars)
  • Your average rating is visible to other users
  • New users start with a 5.0 rating until real ratings accumulate
  • Ratings are shown on ride cards and bid cards for informed decisions

Users with consistently low ratings may have their accounts reviewed. Low-rated riders may find it harder to attract drivers, and low-rated drivers may get fewer ride acceptances. In extreme cases, accounts may be restricted or deactivated.

The reliability system tracks infractions to ensure the platform remains dependable:

  • Minor infractions (e.g., cancellation after driver assigned) add fewer points
  • Major infractions (e.g., no-show, cancellation after arrival) add more points
  • Points accumulate on a rolling basis; older infractions expire
  • Reaching thresholds triggers automatic temporary suspensions (7, 30, or 90 days)

Troubleshooting

This usually means your session has expired. The app should redirect you to login automatically. If not:

  • Close the app completely and reopen it

  • Make sure you have the latest version installed
  • Check your internet connection
  • Try offering a slightly higher price
  • Schedule your ride in advance
  • Check that you're within a supported base's service area
  • Availability improves as the community grows at your base
  • Verify your card details are correct
  • Check that your card hasn't expired
  • Ensure sufficient funds or credit
